Plainview Hospital is a full service community hospital with a 911 receiving Emergency Department that is a designated New York State Regional Level 3 Trauma Center. The Emergency Department is staffed by board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians, registered nurses, technicians and ancillary support staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and treats more than 36,000 patients annually. The Emergency Department’s Fast Track area treats minor uncomplicated cases that results in a high level of patient satisfaction as benchmarked nationally by Press Ganey Associates. To support our patient population Plainview Hospital has an active Interventional Radiology Program, Wound Care and Hyperbaric program, Surgical and Orthopedic services. The Maternal and Newborn Health Services designated as a Level II Perinatal Center encompasses all obstetrical patients from ante partum through the postpartum period. The Obstetrical Department consistently produces high patient satisfaction scores. Our commitment to clinical excellence is exemplified by our participation in evidence based best practices that improve patient care such as Joint Commission’s/CMS publicly reported data on Core Measures, Institute for Health Care Improvement, Five Million Lives Campaign, Rapid Response Teams, and New York State Surgical and Invasive Protocols. Plainview Hospital’s achievements have been recognized as outlined below: -The American Heart Association- Get with the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award 2010 – New York State Designated Primary Stroke Center. -Data Advantage, Hospital Value Index Data Advantage –Best in Value Award 2009-2010. -Healthgrades Maternity Care Excellence Award 2010/2011. -Joint Commission recognizes Plainview Hospital as a top performing hospital in the Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures program during 2010 for Congestive Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Acute Myocardial Infarction, and Surgical Care Improvement Project. We are committed to our pursuit of service excellence, patient safety, and continually improving the clinical care we provide to our patients.
