PrairieCare is a private, free standing psychiatric health care system that is accredited by The Joint Commission under both Hospital and Behavioral Health standards. PrairieCare provides 24 hour inpatient care in a 71 bed psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents. PrairieCare also provides free needs assessments at several Twin Cities metro locations, offers outpatient clinic and intensive outpatient programs for all ages and Partial Hospital Programs (PHPs) for children and adolescents. PrairieCare was granted initial Joint Commission accreditation in early 2012 following successful surveys of the Inpatient and Partial Hospital Programs conducted in January 2012 - receiving stellar marks. PrairieCare leadership and staff are dedicated to providing safe and high quality care to individuals who require specialized psychiatric services. They work diligently toward continuous improvement in programming. Following evidence based practices, PrairieCare is committed to components of effective treatment that include: 1) Acute symptom reduction; 2) Maintenance of treatment goals and gains; 3) Aftercare and follow up; and 4) Consumer / Patient Satisfaction. PrairieCare’s growth in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area continues with compassion and perseverance, and is led by its physicians and licensed clinicians. Since 2005, PrairieCare has filled a great demand for mental health services in Minnesota. Through an affiliation with the University of Minnesota Medical School, PrairieCare has also become a premiere training site for child psychiatrists in the Twin Cities area.
